  Friendly staff that was very accommodating staff that were kind enough to fit us in while we were on vacation to deal with a problem. Dr Smith was friendly, took plenty of time to explain the issue and what we should do about it, and told us not to hesitate to follow up with him if needed. If the Jaguars trust JOI, so can you.

  I chose JOI at Baptist Nassau because of my former treatment at the JOI in Jacksonville, FL for my total knee replacement. With several rehab centers available to choose from, I picked the one adjacent to my surgeon's office. The logic involved was that I thought its' therapists would be under "special scrutiny" due to the physical closeness to my surgeon, Dr. Manthe. I still don't know if there was a significant difference, but with the speed of my recovery, it really doesn't matter. I am experiencing an unbelievably fast rate of recovery for the length of time I've been in outpatient therapy with Dr. Niki Kelley, my physical therapist. In just 11 weeks since Dr. Manthe's excellent surgery, Ms. Kelley has pulled my angle of knee contraction from where my home physical therapist (Lori Manning) had moved me to just under a 90-degree angle down to about 45 degrees. For those not privy to what this means, imagine the straightened-out leg to be at 0 degrees, then as one contracts one's knee behind one, one is decreasing the angle toward the position where one's calf and ankle would be touching one's gluteus maximus at perhaps 37 degrees. I have no doubt that I will move that 45 degree angle down to my original 37 degrees with just a bit more time with my continuing the home exercises. I attribute my success to Dr. Kelley, who is just fabulous in her guidance and pushing me therapeutically to such success. My case may be outside the norm, but I am thoroughly impressed with this therapist and applaud her success with my case. I thought that those persons teetering on the edge of commitment to both the surgery with Dr. Manthe and Dr. Kelley might like to hear how this has turned out for me.
